IDEA FITNESS MEMBER
Welcome to Pilates, and I hope you make the next step & try a Pilates class to realise the benefits for you. Please be aware that you know who your Pilates teacher has trained through, as there are, unfortunately, many teachers who have only done a weekend course or learned Pilates through reading Pilates books. There are changes coming at the end of 2009 though, to ensure Pilates is taught by Level 3 instructors only, so ask them! Its your body after all, why risk it?
I am studying with the Pilates Institute for the Level 3 Pilates Diploma to become a fully trained Pilates teacher, thereafter training continues into 2010 with training on the Pilates Eqiupment, the Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair & Ladder Barrel.
I have completed the following within the Pilates Institute:Clinical Posture, Healthy Back, Sacroiliac & Hip, Shoulder & Neck, Seniors , Pre & Post Natal Pregnancy, Knee & Foot. Matwork One & Matwork Two.
Matwork Three follows in October. I am also a qualified First Aider & fully insured. I am an IDEA Fitness Member, constantly in touch with new relevant research.
I have recently completed a Pilates workshop in London with Alan Herdman on Pilates for clients with Scoliosis & Osteoporosis.
Alan has a passion for Pilates that shines through his lectures & training, he lectures around the world and is highly regarded in his field, he has written several Pilates books, runs his own studio in London & originally studied Pilates in the late 1960's with two instructors who were themselves originally trained by Joseph Pilates. His clients are varied from teenagers correcting tight muscles from carrying school bags incorrectly & sitting at computers for hours to Seniors with Osteoporosis & including many celebrity clients on his books.
He specialises in remedial Pilates, moves are gentle, precise & effective, the time spent doing Pilates is time well spent, not wasted.
